As 2016 draws to a close we can enjoy one last Hurrah at our annual Christmas show in Eglinton this Saturday. Despite quite a good forecast for the coming weekend (better than many of the weekends in the summer I can tell you) it will be good to be back in Eglinton, where the convenience of being able to pop your mount in a stable for the day is a major boon. Add in the on-site canteen, music and ample seating and you have the makings of a great show venue to enjoy the competitive action. As usual the classes will run from the smallest of cross-poles to the more daunting 1.10m, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy. This is also the first competition which our new members will be able to get out and enjoy with the branch, as well as being an opportunity to meet up with visiting members from our neighbors, the North Derry and the North West branches. Once again we will be holding the team competition, which costs nothing extra to enter but allows the winning team riders to receive magnificent rosettes while their chef d’equipe walks away with a case of Kinnegar beer to enjoy. Needless to say all chef d’equipes must be 18 or older!
So break out your Christmas costumes, dress up your horses, warm up the mince pies and come to enjoy the end of our riding year with us.
